Don Cristóbal is a family winery with Argentine and Belgian ownership located in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, that started its activities in 1998 with the commitment to producing quality wines with personality. With the 2001 harvest, It began the production of wines and entered that same year the world wine market with its brand “Cristóbal” - wines of the new world for the entire world. In 2008, a new winery was inaugurated in Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, 39 km south of Mendoza city, on the emblematic Route #40.
Don Cristóbal owns 147 hectares of vineyards, 91 of which are organic, located in the main terroirs surrounding the city of Mendoza. The production methods in the vineyards and the winery are based on a combination of tradition and technological innovation, respecting the organic and sustainable production process. The variety of soils and altitude of each vineyard – together with an adequate balance between its production and its vegetative part – allow the growth of high-quality grapes.
Today Don Cristobal processes an average of 1.600.000 kilos of grapes per harvest, and its wines are positioned in the most demanding and competitive markets in the world.
Don Cristobal is committed to high-quality standards in the vineyards and the winery to produce consistent, quality wines. The winey is accredited with the following certifications:
- HACCP;
- The Bodegas de Argentina Winegrowing Sustainability Protocol;
- The Vegan certification for all the wines.
- The organic certification by Ecocert for 91 ha of vineyards and some of its wines.
