Adega Cartuxa is owned and managed by the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. It is located in Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the stunning Alentejo Region of Portugal. In this historic setting, the Foundation's primary focus is the production of wine and olive oil. Over the years, it has invested in state-of-the-art technology to ensure the highest quality products.
The winery’s portfolio includes Monte de Pinheiros, EA, Foral de Évora, Cartuxa, Scala Coeli, and Pêra-Manca—brands that reflect and preserve Cartuxa’s rich heritage. Recently, the Foundation expanded the EA line to include two organic wines and two wines fermented and aged in 19th-century clay pots.
Cartuxa also produces olive oil under three brands: Álamos, EA, and Cartuxa, all made from estate-grown olives that are cold-pressed in a modern mill.
